Swastika Found on Car at Calabasas High
Officials say that a large swastika was carved onto the hood of a Calabasas HS student’s car and police are calling it a possible hate crime.
A school security guard noticed the large swastika scratched into the hood of the 2009 BMW with a key. The car’s side mirrors also were torn off.
Sheriff’s officers say the car’s owner, a 17-year-old Jewish student, says he believed the vandalism was religiously motivated. He told police recently, someone had used his or her finger to draw a swastika in the dust on his car.
Sharouna Babadjouni, the student’s mother, said “We didn’t report those because they were in paint and could be easily removed, but this can’t. It’s a good school. They just need to put a few kids in their place.”
