Stolen Volvos Driven Right Off the Lot

February 3, 2012

Two $50,000 Volvo sedans were driven off the lot of Volvo of Calabasas.

The vehicles were stored on the second floor of a building and the keys were stored inside the cars. A dealership employee told police that he saw two men looking at new vehicles.

When the employee asked if they needed help, one of men replied that they were waiting for their uncle’s car to be finished in the service department.

The employee subsequently left the area.

When he returned ten minutes later, the two men  and two cars were missing. No “uncle” was ever located in the service department.

There are no tracking devices on the vehicles and no employee saw the cars leave. There are no security cameras inside or outside the dealership. An employee told police that it may be possible to track the cars if the drivers activate the satellite radio.

The men are described as “nervous looking” Hispanic males ages 25-30.

The stolen vehicles include a red M/N XC60T6 SUV and a M/N S80T6 black four-door sedan.
