Rebellion! Old Topanga Wants Out

Residents of the Old Topanga area in Calabasas want to break ties with the city and return to being an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.

The Acorn reports that the Old Topanga homeowners association has already taken steps to leave Calabasas, submitting a map to the county outlining the proposed boundaries to estimate how much the action would cost.

Residents appear to be motivated primarily by Calabasas’ crackdown on septic tanks although, somewhat ironically, the city council must approve the move before it becomes official.
