A “rape by force” of a 16-year-old girl was reported to the Sheriff’s Department. The suspect is a 24-year-old male, who is supposedly known by the victim.
The incident was reported on the morning of October 9 in the unincorporated area next to Calabasas, near Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Authorities say they have not yet interviewed the girl, but expect to shortly.
Sergeant Dan Scott of the Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau says the girl is being treated through Stuart House, which is part of the Rape Treatment Center at the Santa Monica – UCLA Medical Center.

A couple of weeks seems like a long time before the police interview the victim, which I think is required before the suspect is charged. Is that normal?
The link to the treatment center shows that their current program is superior to what's happened in the past. Glad to hear things are improving!
