Musician and Paparazzi Clash at The Commons

February 21, 2010

Musician Travis Barker, the heavily tattooed drummer for punk band Blink-182, got into a heated argument with photographers in the Commons parking lot, drawing the attention of press and police.

Paparazzi Diaries Online reports that Travis was at the mall with friends and his children, and became angry when followed by a cameraman.

After a brief confrontation, the Barker group allegedly confronted two separate photographers in the parking lot, Galo Ramirez and Andy Deetz.

The report says that one of Barker’s friends tried to rip a camera out of a photographer’s hand and spit in his face. It also states that during the escalating confrontation, one of Barker’s group stole a phone from the paparazzi and slashed the tires of their car.

News sites are seeking the supposed video from the incident.

Police arrived and took a report, but declined to give details or even officially confirm whether Barker was involved in the incident.

Baker has had other run-ins with photographers, just December writing, “Paparazzi were 2 minutes from seeing lights out this morning” on his Twitter page.

He’s having an interesting life. Barker has been married to a Miss USA, with whom he is divorced and has two children, and survived an airplane accident in 2008. The Learjet headed to Van Nuys crashed in South Carolina, severely injuring Barker and killing four others.
