Lindsay Lohan Joins Calabasas Burglar in Jail

July 20, 2010

Lindsay Lohan will join a Calabasas resident and tabloid star at the Century Regional Detention Facility near Lynwood today.

Alexis Neiers, 19, of Calabasas, is serving a 180-day sentence for felony burglary in connection with the “bling ring” that targeted celebrity homes, including the Hollywood Hills residence of Lindsay Lohan. Neiers is also known for her E! Entertainment reality television show “Pretty Wild.” It is unknown whether they will be housed in the same unit.

Court records show that authorities suspect the alleged mastermind of the “bling ring” accused of stealing from young celebrities may have had her father’s help in hiding a significant amount of stolen property.

Authorities say they believe 19-year-old Rachel Lee is responsible for organizing the string of burglaries that targeted celebrities like Brian Austin Green, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson and Lindsay Lohan.

Police have charged Lee in connection with some of the break-ins. A search warrant affidavit recently filed in Los Angeles requests Internet and phone records that authorities believe might help them recover some of the stolen items. Further, authorities believe Lee and her father, David Lee, hid some of the stolen items.

Police searched David Lee’s Las Vegas residence last year but believe he and his daughter may have hidden some of the items prior to the search since more than $2 million in stolen property remains unrecovered.

Rachel Lee is one of six young adults—most of whom were teen girls who attended Agoura Hills’ Indian Hills Continuation High School—accused of stealing high-end luxury items from celebrities like Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox and Ashley Tisdale. The press dubbed the group the “Bling Ring” and the “Hollywood Burglar Bunch.”

Alexis Neiers and Nicholas Prugo, alleged accomplices in the crimes, stated in an affidavit that David Lee and Rachel Lee were to “get rid” of the celebrities’ stolen property. Police searched Prugo’s Calabasas home recently but did not recover any stolen property. Prugo also identified Rachel Lee as the mastermind of the crime spree who was responsible for identifying targets. Prugo faces seven counts of felony burglary, and Neiers’s trial is set for April when the rest of the defendants are due back in court.

Authorities have not charged either Rachel Lee or David lee with hiding stolen property. Rachel pleaded not guilty to two counts of receiving stolen property and three charges of felony burglary in connection with the case.
