Have Ideas for the King Gillette Visitor Center?
September 23, 2009
In 2007, a number of parks agencies–local to federal–purchased King Gillette Ranch to stop development in the area and increase recreational use. They also have plans to open an $8.4 million visitor center for for the Santa Monica Mountains and are seeking public input.
As agencies prepare plans for the visitor center, two public meetings will be hosted at the ranch this Thursday and Saturday to gather community suggestions.
Currently, the National Park Service, which manages the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, has a visitor center and headquarters in Thousand Oaks.
