Happy 4th of July!

Here is information to the local fireworks shows and other nearby events for fun on the 4th.

FIREWORKS

Thousand Oaks fireworks (9:00 pm) are launched from the hill behind the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. You can get great viewing at the Oaks Shopping Center and Janns parking lots.

Calabasas (gates open at 5:00 pm, fireworks at 9:00 pm) has music and activities beforehand, but there are no tickets for sale on-site. There are many good parking spots nearby to see the big fireworks show.

Malibu doesn’t have city sponsored fireworks shows, but there will be privately sponsored barges off the coast near three areas: 80 Malibu Colony Road; 21528 P.C.H. and 27910 P.C.H. All are said to start at 9:00 pm.

Camarillo (gates open at 5:00 pm, fireworks at 9:00 pm) has a number of activities before fireworks. Admission is $2, with kids under 5 allowed in for free. There is free parking and shuttles and tickets are available at the event.

PARADES OTHER EVENTS

Agoura Hills: Liberty Canyon 4th of July Parade. 300 Liberty Canyon Rd. 10:00 am. It begins where Liberty Canyon meets Country Glen. There’s also a free concert at Chumash Park, starting at 6:00 pm, featuring “Sharkey & the Babes” and fireworks at 8:45pm. Bring chairs, but leave the pets.

Calabasas also sponsors a free Summer Splash Party at the Tennis & Swim center from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, a Pet Show at Calabasas Lake (11:00 am) and the Lakeside Fun Run starting at 8:00 am.

Monte Nido: the parade begins at 10:00 am where Thornhill Road meets the Edenwild Bridge.

Westlake Village: Parade begins at 9:30 am at the corner of Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Park. Route is 4 blocks down Agoura Road to Berniece Bennett Park.

Thousand Oaks has a pancake breakfast at the Borchard Community Center from 8:00 am until 11:00 am (805-381-2791), a Home Run Derby from 9:00 am-11:00 am, free swimming at the community pools and a free concert featuring the Conejo Pops Orchestra starting at 5:00 pm at the Conejo Community Park.
