Local sobriety checkpoints will be conducted from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday Dec. 21 in Calabasas and 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 in Malibu.
This is part of law enforcement’s 18 Day Holiday DUI Crackdown Campaign with law enforcement agencies deploying 300 DUI/driver’s license checkpoints statewide.
Last year, 1,029 people were killed on California roads by drunk drivers and another 28,457 were injured in collisions that involved alcohol.
If you see a drunk driver on the road, the sheriff’s department encourages you to dial 911 and be ready to describe the vehicle, its location and direction of travel.
