Highway 101/Lost Hills Overpass Construction Plans Revealed

February 8, 2012

An initial CalTrans study about the proposed renovation of the Lost Hills/ U.S. 101 Interchange has been released.

The estimated $25 million project will involve widening the Lost Hills Road overpass to five lanes, providing improvements to the on/off ramp design onto US 101, and ensure safe access for all pedestrians. Two-thirds of the cost of the project will be covered by Measure R construction bond funds.  Calabasas is also lobbying the federal government for more construction funds.

The 150 page initial report concludes that the project will have no harmful effect on the environment.

The tentative construction plans are now subject to public comment. Comments can be submitted in writing to Caltrans (Attn: Carlos Montez, Division of Environmental Planning, 100 S. Main Street, Suite 100, MS 16A, Los Angeles, CA, 90012). There will also be a public hearing at the Calabasas City Hall on February 28.

This is an ongoing story. We will provide more information as the situation develops.
