June 1, 2010
The Agoura/Oak Park/Calabasas/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce recognized several people for their contributions to area communities at its recent Tenth Annual Community Leader’s Awards Ceremony last Wednesday at Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas.
Among those recognized was Lorna Maxwell, a fourth grade instructor at White Oak Elementary in Westlake Village, to whom Westlake Village City Councilwoman Sue McSweeney presented the Teacher of the Year Award.
California Highway Patrol Officer Randy Hosking was honored by the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council. Members of the Burglar Apprehension Team with the Malibu/Lost Hills division of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department—including deputies Joel Armstrong, Guillermo Loza, John McKay, Jose Perez, Ismael Rodriguez, Lazaro Sanchez, Kristina Seitz and Justin Soloman—were honored for their work, as was former Lost Hills captain Cmdr. Tom Martin.
The chamber distributed recognition plaques as well as dinner for four and gifts from chamber businesses to award recipients.
