Lost Hills Sheriff’s deputies arrested a caretaker they say stole money and valuables from the 91-year-old Calabasas man he was hired to help.
Authorities took Kauzak Tugung into custody for theft, as well as Evelyn Cubillas for receiving stolen property. Both suspects are residents of Buena Park.
Tugung is believed to have stolen $6,000 from the victim’s checking account, as well as a $35,000 Rolex watch. He was the victim’s home caretaker for four months and was recently fired when a family member discovered the missing funds and watch.
The Sheriff’s Department says detectives were able to confirm the thefts by Tugung and also that Cubillas received some of the stolen property.
