Calabasas Snow Day Postponed Due to Rain
The city of Calabasas says that the Snow, Snow, Snow Day, previously scheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2010, has been postponed due to field conditions at Gates Canyon Park.
The recent storms saturated the ground and weather reports are forecasting more rain. In order to create the sledding hills, over 140,000 pounds of ice must enter the park via seven semi-trucks and officials say the heavy vehicles couldn’t access the grass hills without causing severe and costly damages to the site.
