Calabasas Moms Helps Nontechies Write iPhone Apps
June 24, 2010
Three Calabasas Moms formed a development company to create iPhone applications and help other entrepreneurs do the same.
The company, Appsnminded, has developed about 30 of its own apps. The most popular is a My Make Up dress-up application geared toward younger girls that has earned $100,000.
The company also helps non-techie developers turn their great idea into an actual product by outsourcing the programming to contract workers in other countries.
“We get probably 10 people a day e-mailing or calling saying, ‘I have an idea for an app. Can you help me?’ ” Noonan said to the Los Angeles Times.
Since Apply and Google started allowing developers to create applications for their smart phones, more than 250,000 of these programs have been created and is predicted to generate around $14 billion in sales next year.
