Brush Fire in Calabasas Burns 7 Acres

The LA County Fire department reports that there is a brush fire in Calabasas between Las Virgenes and Lost Hills roads.

About 200 fire and emergency personal are at the scene. The fire has burned approximately four acres. Air units report light winds. There are no reported injuries and no buildings are presently at risk.

UPDATE: Fire officials report the blaze is 8o% contained. Still no injuries or damaged buildings. The fire has burned 7 acres.

UPDATE: Fire’s out. Authorities say there were no injuries or evacuations and no structures were threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE: Fire department reports the fire was accidentally caused by the overheated engine of a weed-wacker. The hot motor was placed on the ground and ignited dry grass.
